This inspiration, combined with a relentless work ethic, took Gatocito into local night clubs, where his effortless-seeming flow and pitch-perfect beats won over a crowd ready to shake their tails all night long.

He dropped his first album, The Hippest Cat in Little Havana, to little initial fanfare. But soon other DJs were spinning upbeat club bangers like “Fluffy Fluffy Florida” and “This Much I Meow” and people flocked to buy the disc.
